It started as a dumb idea.
Bored and snowed in, me and my neighbors joked about walking to Preservation Pub, about a one hour walk according to Google Maps from our block in North Knoxville.
Against any rational judgement, Daniel Fluitt (Thrift Store Cowboys), Jess Hale (Tomahawk Booking), and me headed for the summit.

The walk took us on treacherous paths down Broadway and Central, nearly succumbing to hidden pits and lack of confidence along the way.
Walking uphill through the snow is likef walking in sand, just much colder.
Yet, we trudged forward.. Our goal closer with each step.

As the lights of Downtown crept into view, we passed roving gangs of side by sides atvs and a guy snowboarding behind a truck (I didn't get any pictures because I was exhausted)
We were close, and we could feel it.
Our walk across Gay St to Market Square felt like the end of Homeward Bound. Daniel is definitely Shadow.
Despite the odds, and our complete stupidity, we arrived at our Mt Everest.

Now, beer in hand, we'll hang out, watch the Merlin's Nest perform, then found out some way to get home.
I'm not walking.
